Wade Rials, Senior Pastor

Wade became our Senior Pastor in June 2008. Wade is originally from Samson in south Alabama and is a graduate of the University of Mobile and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Wade has made it clear that his main passion in ministry is to equip the Saints of Christ to strengthen their relationship with Christ and then for them to be able to carry the redeeming message of Christ to all of those that they come in contact with. His messages from the pulpit are very energetic and passionate. His desire to exhort the Church is obvious in his style and delivery from the pulpit. Wade and his wife Christy have a beautiful 2 year old son named Solomon.

Mike Spivey, Student Pastor

Mike joined our staff in October of 2008 as Student Pastor. Mike received his undergraduate degree from Brewton Parker College  and received a Master of Divinity degree in May of 2008 from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Mike has served at churches in Georgia and Kentucky before coming to us. He has a strong passion to “live life” with our Students, pouring his life into them and leading them to a deeper relationship with Christ. He seeks to enable Students to discover their spiritual gifts and equip them for effective ministry. Mike and his wife Molly have twin boys, Jeremiah and Michael who were born in April of 2008.

Shirley Milton, Office Manager

Shirley joined our staff in October 2000 after retiring from the State of Alabama. The Milton family joined Woodley Baptist, now Thorington Road Baptist in 1995. Shirley and her husband, James, are native Montgomerians and were high school sweethearts. James and Shirley’s family includes two grown sons, Stan, along with wife Misty and daughter Madi & Chris, along with wife Kristy and son Maddox and daughter Ava, all of whom are faithful members of TRBC.

Judy Wilbanks, Outreach Director

Judy and her husband Tom joined Woodley Baptist, now Thorington Road Baptist in 1965. She came on staff as Outreach Director in 1985. Judy has served on our staff longer than any of the other staff members. The Wilbanks have served in almost every capacity possible within a church, including many years working with our Youth and Tom has been as a vital part of our deacon ministry since their early days at Woodley. Tom works as a pharmacist in Montgomery. Judy and Tom have two grown children, Pam and Matt.

Emily Ballard, Children’s Director

Emily Ballard joined our staff as Children’s Director September of 2008. She is a recent graduate of Auburn University, Montgomery. She coordinates our Children’s Church on Sunday mornings and directs all of our children’s activities and ministries.

Kristy Milton, Preschool Director

Kristy joined our staff in July of 2009.  She has been a member of Thorington Road Baptist since 2001.  Kristy and her husband, Chris, are from Montgomery and were high school sweethearts.  Chris and Kristy’s family includes a son, Maddox and a daughter, Ava.  Kristy coordinates our preschool department and activities.  “I am so excited the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to work with His children.”
